Pictured above is my first student Randy(Right) and myself(Left) after a long session of making knives!

I am now happy to offer knife making classes on a daily rate basis. Apart from my YouTube tutorial videos, some feel it more beneficial to learn with a hands on approach. I am more than happy to offer my services to teach someone willing to learn.

My current program includes how to make a fixed blade knife in its entirety minus the heat treat. I send all my blades out for heat treat as I do not currently possess the equipment to allow me to do so. I will teach you how to free hand grind, as well as how to grind using a jig. The class includes knife terminology, knife geometry, cutting blanks, profiling, hand sanding, handle work, sharpening, and a ton of tips and tricks along the way. I know some of you are further along than others, so if you would just like to pick my brain for the day, I would certainly offer my services there as well! Essentially if you have seen me do it, I can teach you!

To enter my shop, everyone must be equipped with a face shield as well as a respirator on hand or I will not proceed with the class. SAFETY FIRST! That being said, I will also require you to sign a safety waiver before starting the class simply letting you know that I’m not responsible for any accidents that may occur within the course. This is a shop not a play room, but as long as we follow standard safety precautions, everything will roll smoothly. No one has ever been injured in my shop including myself, and I intend to keep it that way!

My rate is $200 per 8 hour day and the length of the course solely depends on how much you want to learn and how much of the information you can retain. Bring a notebook to write any information you may forget later because there will be a lot of it! If you plan on staying for a few days, there are plenty of reasonably priced hotels in the area to accommodate you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me in any way possible on my contact page. I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you!!!
